Air quality sensors and networks are becoming more popular as well as more affordable, giving more people access to this information. And with the increasing number of air quality sensors in cities around the world, this information is starting to become more accessible to the general public.
Why is air quality so important?
Air quality is one of the most important components of our environment when it comes to health and safety. Air pollutants can have a major impact on our health, and in many cases, can make us sick or even kill us. Air quality is usually measured using an Air Quality Index, or AQI. And as the AQI increases, so does the danger air pollutants pose to our health. According to the EPA, most people are safe when the AQI is below 50. But when the AQI rises above 100, many people begin to experience health problems. And when the AQI reaches 500 or higher, many people become sick and can even die. That’s why it’s so important that we all work together to improve air quality and protect our health. There are many things we can all do to help, such as reducing greenhouse gas emissions, choosing fuel-efficient cars, and buying energy-efficient appliances. But improving air quality on a global scale will require a coordinated effort among governments, businesses and individuals around the world. We all have a role to play in making sure we have healthy and safe air to breathe. So let’s work together to make sure we all breathe easy! By Brianna Simeonidis on Nov 29, 2018
Why should you consider using an API?
There are many reasons why you should consider using an API for your next project. APIs are designed to make it easy for you to access and integrate data from other applications without having to build your own backend infrastructure.
This API will retrieve the current, historical, and forecasted Air Quality Index of any location in the world.
To make use of it, you must first:
1- Go to Air Quality Index API and simply click on the button “Subscribe for free” to start using the API.
2- After signing up in Zyla API Hub, you’ll be given your personal API key. Using this one-of-a-kind combination of numbers and letters, you’ll be able to use, connect, and manage APIs!
3- Employ the different API endpoints depending on what you are looking for.
4- Once you meet your needed endpoint, make the API call by pressing the button “run” and see the results on your screen.
