The Toshiba Canvio Flex 4TB (HDTX140ESCCA) delivered excellent results in our test. In the test, we measured considerable transfer rates for reading (146 MB/s) and writing (144 MB/s) for an external HDD. There are minor shortcomings when it comes to mobility, which is still good overall: The Canvio Flex weighs a little more (210 grams) than many competing models. The dimensions of 111 x 80 x 20 millimeters are also somewhat larger. There is also no hardware encryption and the casing of the external hard drive is not non-slip.
Our conclusion at the time of testing:
"The Toshiba Canvio Flex 4TB external hard drive delivered performance values at the highest level in the test. We gave top marks for the transfer rates for reading and writing. The storage capacity of 4,000 GB and the great price-performance ratio are also noteworthy. The mobility is also good , although data encryption is missing and the smooth surface does not offer a non-slip grip."
