As the graphics card manufacturer Nvidia has announced, there are now 150 PC games with Dying Light 2, Destiny 2: The Witch Queen, Supraland Six Inches Under and others with DLSS support.
Nvidia has been offering DLSS technology with the RTX 20 series since 2018 to improve the performance of the graphics cards without the image quality suffering too much. To do this, an algorithm is used that uses deep learning. However, game developers will need to customize their PC games to use DLSS. Nvidia has announced that with the new Game Ready driver 511.79 WHQL DLSS support is now available for 150 PC games, including Dying Light 2.
Nvidia promises: 2x performance leap in Dying Light 2
With Nvidia DLSS the performance of the game should improve. Deep learning technology is used for this in order to be able to output the sharpest possible image with a high fps number at the same time. For example, the algorithm can restore image details based on artifacts, so the PC is said to be able to display up to 75 percent more frame rates. In the case of Dying Light 2, there should be a performance increase of up to 2 times, Nvidia promises. In addition to DLSS, the survival horror game features ray tracing lighting, sun shadows, reflections, ambient occlusion, and flashlight.
In addition, the upcoming PC games Grid Legends, SCP: Pandemic, Martha is Dead and Shadow Warrior 3 will also get DLSS support with this new driver. Martha is Dead also has ray-traced shadows and reflections. The new graphics driver also offers DLSS support for Destiny 2: Witch Queen, Elden Ring, Phantasy Star Online 2 New Genesis, Sifu and Supraland Six Inches Under. Nvidia offers the Game Ready driver 511.79 WHQL for free download on the website.
The following bugs should be solved – and these problems still exist
In addition to DLSS support for PC games, the Nvidia driver also offers some bug fixes, but also contains unresolved issues. Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed can cause the game to crash when driving through water. When playing Grid Legends on an Ampere graphics card, artifacts may flicker in the background. In addition, there can be sound problems with RTX 3000 graphics cards if you have connected the card to an AV receiver via HDMI 2.1 and are using Dolby Atmos. For laptop users with an Ampere graphics chip, the notebook may restart Windows when waking up the mobile PC from sleep mode. Also, the "dGPU" setting in the Nvidia Control Panels may not be saved when the laptop restarts. If the display contains an invalid EDID, the native resolution via DVI or HDMI connection may not be available in the display settings. The following bugs should have been fixed:
Call of Duty Vanguard / Assassin's Creed Valhalla: The games may display random glitches or a white/black screen. [3503111/3525655]Battlefield 2042: The game may display color errors on the screen. [3503086]Corel Paint Shop Pro XI: The application cannot be started. [3510891]Nvidia G-Sync: After disabling G-SYNC on a G-SYNC compatible monitor and TV, G-SYNC cannot be re-enabled through the NVIDIA Control Panel. [3523157]Digital Vibrance resets when monitor goes to sleep. [3519430]
