Two days ago the news broke about the possibility of Samsung approaching MediaTek to use its chips for some of its high-end products, such as the next Samsung Galaxy S22 FE. A news that leads us precisely to this other to know that this company has just quietly launched the new MediaTek 1300 chip that is characterized by AV1 decoding hardware and its 5G.
Improving the MediaTek 1200
This new MediaTek 1300 chip is positioned just above what the MediaTek 1200 achieved. Manufactured at 6nm, the Dimensity 1300 octa-core SoC features four Cortex-A78 cores including an Ultra Core clocked at up to 3Ghz and for supporting super-fast refresh rates, AV1 hardware decoding, and enhanced AI capabilities that are all the rage.

When it comes to graphics, the ARM Mali G77 MC9 GPU is present to bring resolutions up to 2520 x 1080 at a refresh rate that can go up to 168 Hz.
